Tarkov City, the "Ground Zero"

The city is dark, but not quiet. It is less than an hour since the "blue flame" detonated over Tarkov City, frying all electronics. The 3rd Battle Assault Encounter Regiment (BEAR) section, "Sherst", is currently in the middle of a raid close to a TerraGroup building in Tarkov City. "Vepr", the section's leader, died during the blast of the "blue flame". The rest of the "Sherst" section was cut off. All were knocked unconscious. After they woke up, they found that command got cut off after the blue flame, so they needed to go to the back-up evacuation point at the port. Ragman and Therapist, traders that "Vepr" dealed with to repair gear and get new medicine, are where they are heading first. Fireteam "Svora", the other half of the "Sherst" squad, should be located. They are also looking for more rations.

The group got their bearings and began to work through the building that collapsed, breaking their group in two. The group moved north-east, clearing a room on the way. There was nothing of note in the room. Moving out into the main area of the office building, a bandit (called Scavs in an "affectionate" manner) was picking over the corpse of a United Security (USEC) operator. Dyavol quickly shot and killed the Scav, and cleared the room. At the far end of the room a car had rammed through a window and was covered in glass. All the lights were not working in this room.

The USEC had a standard issue M4A1 with a blue stubby foregrip, an EOTech XPS3-2 holographic sight, and a sling which seemingly was cut off of the gun by the scav. Dyavol took the EOTech off of the gun, while Berkut searched the Scav. The Scav had an AKMS which was as good as junk, as well as a roll of toilet paper. They ignored that, and moved on outside of the building. It was pitch black outside -- not a single light was working. Distant sounds of explosions and gunfire were heard for the entire time they were outside.

They moved north-east almost immediately, towards an office building. Two Scavs were outside of it, talking in Russian about the "blue flame". After they stopped talking, using night vision to make sure they were not located, Berkut and Dyavol shot and killed both Scavs in sync. They moved inside the office building, clearing the main area. They then cleared a southern area, where an empty fish tank with a thin film over the water sat. Berkut remarked about it being a waste of water. Broken hydroponics systems in this room were also found.

There was a door to the south, which they attempted to clear. Opening it up, they were attacked by a fireteam of USEC operatives, one of which had an underbarrel grenade launcher. Stacking up at the door, they killed one USEC rather quickly, but Pyos was badly shot in the leg, crippling it. He fell to the floor. Berkut shot another, then Dyavol quickly shut the door to prevent any returning fire from being precise. Right as he shut the door, the last remaining USEC fired a M203 UBGL at the door, blasting it to shreds. In a miraculous turn of luck, no one was injured by the blast, but the door was obliterated. Dyavol quickly peeked around the door and shot the remaining USEC.

After the battle, Berkut immediately applied a hemostatic and bandage to Pyos' wound, while Dyavol cleared the room and took the UBGL off of the M4, which took a bit of time each. Dyavol also found a keycard marked Labrys "Constructions and Logistics" access card on one of the USEC. They thought this could be important and connected to TerraGroup, thus they kept it for later. They cleared the last accessible room in the building, which had to be forced open. There was no clear exit to the room, but it was blocked by a giant pile of rolling chairs and opened inward. This scared the fireteam and they quickly left.

They moved across the street to the south, passing a couch on fire, to an office building. In the distance, to the north-west, they spotted a green flare which they identified as a passage to Therapist's hideout. The first building they cleared seemed to be empty. A window that they peered through from the street identified a blocked door at the end of an empty hallway. There was another fishtank that was empty here. A door with a keycard access panel was at the far east end of this room, but they could not open it. It somehow worked when most other electronics were failing.

Moving out into the street again, going south, Berkut opened an apartment building. They planned to have Berkut run rabbit, and have Dyavol shoot any possible targets, while Pyos would lay prone outside shooting anyone who got close. Immediately as Berkut opened the door, he dived back as he saw a USEC with an M240B suppressing the door. No one was hit, but they could not enter. After a second of deliberating, Pyos acted without a second thought and cleverly threw a grenade down the hall. The machine gunner stopped and the two operators with working legs moved in.

The machine gunner seemed to be hiding in a room blasting music, which they could hear from the hallway. They shuffled through songs, but no one could pin-point what the music was. It was in Russian however, odd for western mercenaries. They moved towards the door on the opposite wall from it, Berkut going first. As soon as Berkut got within sight line of the door, he was shot in the right arm and fell to the floor, attempting to evade it. Dyavol dragged him out of the building to a safer point, then installed an Area Denial Device at the door to prevent them from safely leaving. Dyavol quickly applied a hemostatic and helped the still injured Pyos to Therapist's hideout.

They were brought up a working elevator to Therapist's hideout, all the while being watched by heavily armed operators from both sides, as well as paramilitary "raiders".  Her hideout was a repurposed apartment building, with a section for medical things to take place. There was also a bathroom with a shower, but no one attempted to test if it worked. There was also an injured USEC and a Scavenger (which had a "Messenger's Patch" that they recognized) which were singing and playing music together. They then stepped into Therapist's office.

GM's Notes
Have you ever seen someone roll six ones in a row? Well, now I have. The UBGL being that poor of damage was genuinely life-saving for the team. The door, however, was already weak and I ruled that it blew apart. They did okay, but could use better tactics. Overall, they got objectives accomplished, but did not collect any valuables to sell for cash. Next session they meet Therapist, their first vendor. No new questlines were started this session.
