Basedstein: Turn 0

This turn lasted from the 1st of August to the 31st of August.

This was the first turn of the Basedstein! Awesome! Things are going fine for now. A lot of the communication between players has been interesting and I am glad the messaging-scheme we are using is working out well. Below are some tidbits of information (GOSS/SEEN posts) that have some actions that players have been doing. Turn one starts on the 1st (it will be a shorter turn), which is exciting.

Missing Caravans

Several caravans have been reported missing, while others have been accosted and abused by cloaked bandits while traveling the southern road skirting Skafith's Peaks.

Spider Hunting

Rumours have it that Baron Wyatt has started moving soldiers and adventurers from his holds into the forest he resides close to, which contains giant spiders that he seeks to investigate their origins and locate any of their nests his troops can find.

Forces Amassing at Windy Hill

Baron Arlan II has openly begun raising and training a standing force at Windy Hill, in accordance with the expectations set by the Count. The effort is modest but public, with new recruits drilling under the guidance of the knights and craftsmen sent from Nevasa.

The Loop

Count Zach III, 'The Shield' of Dirk, has constructed a series of watchtowers along the roads between Nevasa, Scotia, Castle Dirk, and Iron's End that he has dubbed 'The Loop'. He proclaims that these towers, as well as patrols along the roads, are in place to protect caravans and travelers in the area. He advertises that his men shall protect all civilized travelers and traders who use the road, without exception.

Adventurers near Iron's End

Parties of adventurers are rumored to be traveling around the southern and western forests, looking for monsters and dungeons.

Road Surveyors

A small company of adventurers has been hired to survey the lands between Blyth and Balaim. They have been instructed to seek a practical route, note any dangers or difficult terrain, and estimate what would be required to establish a usable road.

Craftsdwarves wanted in Aberdeen

Baron Arlan II has openly expressed an interest in welcoming Dwarven smiths and miners to settle within the lands of Windy Hill. He has made it known that skilled Dwarven craftsmen will be offered honest employment, fair treatment, and the opportunity to establish homes and workshops of their own, with the intention of improving local mining and metalworking rather than drawing workers away through secrecy or deception.

Baron Karl's Adventurers

Baron Karl recently dispatched a band of adventurers, which supposedly was sent to clear bandits along the roads between Oxton and Thornwick. Initially, however, according to travelers, the true purpose of the expedition was the company’s lone bard. The other nine adventurers are said to be little more than an unusually well-armed escort, charged with ensuring that the musician reaches every inn, market, crossroads, and respectable merchant house between Thornwick and Oxton without interruption. Several inns along the road are now reportedly very tired of songs about Baron Karl.

Skirmish near Oxton

The adventurers sent by Baron Karl as well as an unmarked mounted patrol had a skirmish outside of Oxton. The mounted patrol suffered only one loss, while the adventurers lost their two poorly trained Fighters. It is still unknown who attacked them and why.

Northmen Mercenaries

A company of ~100 Sternmen druzhinniks approached Sanctuary, using it as a base of operations until they are hired. Apparently, they are highly trained shock troops, as most Sternmen are, but are somewhat crazy. Their leader is Prince Leif Bjornsen.
