Mines of Korth Templates III

Yet again I am posting new templates for my players. The first game with hopefully more players is coming up, so I wanted to round out the list with some more advanced templates. Below are three new templates: the Acrobat, the Wildling, and the Wizard. Traits marked with a "^" require GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 11: Power-Ups.

Mines of Korth Templates II

Last night, I published the first part of this. I then realized that there was no options to play demi-humans, so I decided that I should get to work immediately. In this post, there will be four classes once again. There will be a classic Dwarf, my take on Halflings (southern Dwarves), as well as a Priest and a Scout. Something I forgot to note in the previous post is that GURPS Magic with Wizardry Refined is in use. This modifies all kinds of things, but mostly makes spell casting more fair. Elves are absent from these classes. I hate Elves enough to not let players play them, period.

Mines of Korth Templates I

In my IRL DF game, I have realized that being at 70/-30 provides odd situations for the players. While I could use something like Delvers to Grow, I don't have a print copy of that, and I tend to play a more "low magic" game. Thus, I decided to make some templates for them to quickly make characters and get to playing. Below are characters based around 70pts, with -30pts in disadvantages. Quirks are not provided, but could be used to increase point values. It is suggested to have at least one warrior in each party! Listed disadvantages with a "*" require resistance rolls vs. 12. Repeated entries of skills mean you can put more points into skills from different "point pools/sources".

Note: If you are playing within the World of Zirkeon, being my fantasy roleplaying world, female characters must take "Social Stigma (Second-Class Citizen)". All characters can also take Status -1 as part of their character creation, taking up [-5] points.

Escape from Tarkov - BEAR Standard Issue

In this short article, I will list the standard issue equipment that BEAR Operators. USEC PMCs and their loadouts might be explained in further detail at a later date. Explanations to items that might not exist in the real world or might not be clear will be explained to prevent confusion. If multiple items that would be mutually exclusive are listed, assume that equipment might vary between unit to unit, and from role to role.

Escape from Tarkov, Session Three - Military Operations in Urban Terrain

June 27th, 2016.
0:38:51. It is overcast.

Characters
Void as "Berkut"
Giggles as "Dyavol"

Terragen as "Medoyed"

Tarkov City, Therapist's Apartment Building

Finally back at Therapist's office, Berkut was dragged into immediate care, while Dyavol and Priyatel prepared to get some rest. Just as they did, a fellow member of the "Sherst" BEAR section walked into the apartment. He looked quite battered. He explained that he was the sole survivor of an ambush involving IEDs or another explosive from a very organized group of soldiers. They were wearing mostly black or darkened US MOUT "T-Pattern" camouflage. They struck exactly ten minutes before the blue flame, and had mostly matching equipment. They also had restricted or experimental military equipment, but no clear identification. You managed to escape despite scavengers picking over the disfigured bodies of your companions. Using a map you found on your teamlead, you managed to locate Therapist's apartment in hopes to link up with any survivors from the "Sherst" section. Once introductions were made, they were too tired to continue talking, and went to take a rest in Therapist's hideout.

Escape from Tarkov, Session Two - Concrete Whispers

June 26th, 2016.
22:18:57. It is dark and cloudy.

Characters
Void as "Berkut"
Giggles as "Dyavol"
Clayton as "Priyatel"

Tarkov City, Therapist's Apartment Building

At Therapist's office, Berkut and Pyos turn in for immediate medical attention. They do not ask for payment yet. Dyavol prepares to speak to Therapist, when he spots a friendly face. "Privatel" of the 1st BEAR section "Siniy" is in Therapist's hideout, alone, most likely attempting to get his bearings after the Blue Flame. They linked up and synced up, getting ready to speak to Therapist together. Therapist gave them the run-down on her situation, as well as what she would sell and buy from them. She also extorted them for transport through Tarkov City, by asking for a lump sum of cash and basic objectives.

The Barrow Wight Slayers - Rags to Riches - Part Seven

Domečar 2nd, 1483 AA. Roccastra, Republic di Virella. Early Morning.

After being paid, they spent a night in town, while Levius looks for work, though it was fruitless. The next morning, the group continues to look for work. Argun's chainmail is repaired, and most of the group look like brigands and bandits instead of poorly armed peasants. As they searched, a dog came up to them. He was a sheepdog, barking at the group. They eventually follow it, to Malcom's Pasture, where he raises sheep.

They see no sign of Malcom, though, and the dog eventually leads them to a small cave on the side of a hill where sheep mill about. The group call for Malcom, as Thalyros fetches a rope from his bag. They belay down, and land in a small brook in a cavern. They find no sign of Malcom. They squeeze together, and begin crawling around. The cave smelled faintly of sap and lake water, though the lake water smell was to be expected.

Looking around, there was a way that the water continued and slimmed. However, it led to a waterfall down. Across the rushing water, they saw a Shepard's hook. Fearing the worst, Gunbu looked, and saw that poor Murrie had died. His arm was wrenched and broken, and a sheep was also dead in the water next to him. They decided that they perhaps should continue the other way, to see if something had killed poor Malcom.

Moving through the cave, they found that to the north, was a passage that hooked left and became rather small. Argunijin had to knock a chunk of rock off of one of the walls to even fit through, and even then he could have become stuck and died. They then climbed up a short step, and walked further ahead. As they sloshed through the water, Levius saw something glinting like gold in the water. Reaching for it, a large dark blue beast rose out of the water and snapped at him. It also used a Mentalist attack on him, fatiguing him.

The group then quickly sprung to action, but the beast was too good at evading. Eventually it slithered back into its cavern, and the group could not find it, as the passage was too narrow and had a 5' ceiling. Turning back to the main passage, they found a skeleton wearing old Yhrani equipment, which had barely kept. Inching closer, it stood up and prepared to attack! Argunijin quickly dispatched it, but they became curious. They moved further into the cave, and found a small ladder where they could climb up into a small passage.

Climbing up, they found a crypt, which contained two sarcophagii, with the third being collapsed. In the crypt, they found various treasures, but were initially apprehensive about touching them. There was a silver broach and a golden torq, as well as a copper key. The key and torq were initially ignored, as the key was held by a skeleton and the torq was not yet revealed. Argunijin walked over to the broach and instinctively picked it up just as Thalyros opened a passage and saw the torq.

Then, all hell broke loose. One skeleton wielding a solid-iron axe and a somehow intact shield rose from a burial table, followed by a specter which no one could see. Levius and Gunbu fled almost immediately, as Thalyros and Argunijin sprung to action. Argunijin struck the skeleton, but did not deal enough damage to kill it. Then the ghost used it's attacks on Thalyros, which cut and fatigued him. He screamed, but did not flee. Argunijin missed once more, and Thalyros took another bout of fatigue damage and fell to the floor, unconscious.

Argunijin then picked him up, fighting with one hand wielding a polearm, and dragged him out of the crypt, towards the door that Gunbu discovered. Argunijin eventually was hit by the ghost, dropping Thalyros. He then drank a special potion he kept with him, which restored him to full energy and health! He then barely picked up Thalyros and fireman-carried him out of the crypt. They escaped in critical condition.

Escape from Tarkov, Session One - Prepare for Escape

June 26th, 2016.
21:02:07. It is dark and cloudy.

Characters
Lop as "Pyos"
Void as "Berkut"
Giggles as "Dyavol"

Tarkov City, the "Ground Zero"

The city is dark, but not quiet. It is less than an hour since the "blue flame" detonated over Tarkov City, frying all electronics. The 3rd Battle Assault Encounter Regiment (BEAR) section, "Sherst", is currently in the middle of a raid close to a TerraGroup building in Tarkov City. "Vepr", the section's leader, died during the blast of the "blue flame". The rest of the "Sherst" section was cut off. All were knocked unconscious. After they woke up, they found that command got cut off after the blue flame, so they needed to go to the back-up evacuation point at the port. Ragman and Therapist, traders that "Vepr" dealed with to repair gear and get new medicine, are where they are heading first. Fireteam "Svora", the other half of the "Sherst" squad, should be located. They are also looking for more rations.
